PEPES IN PARIS POST-GAME REPORT

Pepe Fest Paris from Seannie Cameras on Vimeo.

Paris, Italy was invaded by apes on October 5th. (Record Scratch…) Oh, nope, sorry… that’s fake news. Paris, France was hopping with frogs from October 5th thru the 7th. NFT Factory & L’Avant Galerie Vossen were home to the Rare Pepes, Fake Rares, and many more pepe collections including Stamps, Mystic Pepes, Fake Commons, Inscribed Pepes, Dank Rares, Notable Pepes, Alcatraz Swim Team, Whordinals, and more.

The event started out with croissants and coffee each day at the galleries, setting the tone on day one with a french barber outside of NFT FACTORY offering free MULLETPEPE cuts and sometimes engraving “PEPE” in the sides of customers heads… quite literally, showing Proof of Pepe.

L’Avant and NFT Factory are both located in the heart of Paris, so pepes walked back and forth all day, grabbing falafel, lattes and frog legs in between doses of pepe culture. L’Avant housed more than 50 physical pieces of themed art depicting pepe in a myriad of ways, with each piece auctioned via No- Reserve on scarce.city. The art ranged from marker drawings, to oil paintings, plushy toys and action figures, dioramas and ceramic sculptures, price guides, and neon signs. The level of creativity that oozed from this collection was priceless.

NFT Factory featured more than 60 digital screens showcasing upwards of 5000 pepes and other memes on display throughout the 3 day festival. To really amp up the pepe culture, DJ Q-Bert & Rare Scrilla spun music in the afternoons against this iconic backdrop.

At L’Avant, Pepelangelo live-painted for free all week, bringing to life people as pepes. She also had a Pepe Noir themed art installation in the basement of NFT Factory.

Joe Looney, the creator of the Rare Pepe Wallet, officially launched his new wallet, rpw.wtf, during Pepes in Paris. He spent two days demonstrating how anyone could easily mint from inside the wallet – which by the way is integrated with Ledger hardware wallets as well – and gave away 60 free minting passes for people to create and mint artworks on the spot. OG Pepe creators, new fakers, children and even random passersby came to draw their interpretation of pepe during these workshops. In fact, the workshops were so popular that someone even spun up FEST RARES as a way of organizing the collection in one place. The main meme that was born from this workshop was “IMA SEND YOU TA JESUS” by Viva La Vandal’s pre-teen who made the dankest Fest Rare.

In addition to the art, Pepe Fest hosted a number of events, including a nightclub party with DJ Q-Bert, Rare Scrilla and Bunzy DJing at Club Modiva, a Scientist dinner cruise around the River Seine, and a closing auction party. Holes got punched in the walls of the pepe frat house. Couscous was inhaled. Basically, it was an action packed three day extravaganza that attracted pepe creators, collectors and a lot of newbies who just happened into the galleries driven by pure curiosity.

Keep an eye on PEPEFEST.LOL… there’s more to come soon.
